The way I see it:
For some who are new to the term ‘Microdermabrasion’, here you go with a small write-up –

Microdermabrasion, is one of the more popular, safe and effective anti-aging treatments in the market today.

It is generally done with an expensive machine that uses crystal or diamond- tip technology to soften fine lines and wrinkles, smoothen coarsely textured skin and decrease the appearance of scarring and the size of pores. It also reduces superficial hyper-pigmentation or age spots.

After such a treatment you will notice that the therapeutic products that you use, will penetrate deep into the layers of the skin and help build collagen, thus giving you youthful skin.

Now as wonderful as this treatment sounds, it has to be done with the utmost care.
Coming to this product……
It is a scrub that does much more than the quintessential Himalaya or Ponds exfoliator. Hence it should also be treated and used differently.
It ought to be used with a very, very light hand, over damp skin in small circular motions with your fingertips while avoiding the eye area. It is very potent and can cause sore skin.
Take a look at how different the beads in this scrub are, from that of a normal drugstore scrub –
Left pic is that of a normal scrub with visible scrub granules whereas the right side is that of the microdermabrasion scrub with minute scrub particles.

Be sure to follow with a gentle non-alcohol toner and moisturizer.

VERY IMPORTANT. Although it says use it once or twice a week I would suggest once in two weeks.
It is quite abrasive and it feels too pokey when put on the face.
I don’t like using it but – I do like the after effects it gives.
If you have relatively clear skin that looks even better with light makeup then I do not think you need to use such a product. The average scrub once or twice a week is enough.
Only those with very big pores, heavy pigmentation and blemished skin from small pox etc. may need this.
It does help and you will notice a significant change in your skin texture and look. It is definitely better than going to a salon for intensive and expensive treatments. To be able to get youthful skin in the comfort of your home is a blessing granted to us by science.

From the picture of my hand you can see how smooth my skin has become. You can hardly see the pores on my skin.

The ‘Yay’ factors:
  • Reputed brand
  • Removes dead skin cells
  • Leaves skin soft & smooth
  • Gives skin brighter & radiant
  • Improves skin texture and tone
  • Travel friendly packaging
  • Reduces need for expensive salon microdermabrasion sittings
  • Helps follow-up skin products sink better into the skin
  • One tube will last quite long

The ‘Nay’ factors:
  • Pricey
  • Better used only once a week or once in 2 weeks
  • Do not scrub too much with this product
  • Side effects of such an effective product not known

HnB rating: 4/5
The TBS VITAMIN C MICRODERMABRASION does its job but should be used with caution. Do think ten times about whether you actually need such a treatment or not.
HnB Ed – I am still thinking if I really need this… 😀 But I always had my eye on this & this Vit.C range from TBS.. Nice review Chris…
