What the product claims:

‘A beauty classic returns. This toner removes the last traces of make-up and leaves skin feeling cool and refreshed. Apply to a cotton pad and sweep over face after cleansing. If product gets into eyes, rinse with clean water’.

It comes in a transparent container that is made of 100% recycled plastic with a black flip-flop cap.
The way I see it:

This is was the first toner that I ever tried. I did not really go looking for a toner but got tempted by the clear and refreshing look of the product.

I did not want anything with alcohol and it seemed to be a great product to invest in, since they also call it ‘FRESHENING WATER’.
I put some of it in a spray bottle to spritz on my face at the end of each work day. It was easy to cart along and I could use it whenever I needed.

Cucumber has a cooling effect on the skin. It contains awesome therapeutic ingredients like vitamins A, B and C, magnesium, potassium and manganese. It also has ascorbic acid and caffeic acid that lowers the level of water retention hence making it a big hit with eye products as it reduces the swelling around the eyes.

Now TBS calls it ‘freshening water’ – but it’s actually a toner. It refreshes and cleanses at the same time.
The smell is just awesome. If they came out with a body mist like this I would be the first in line for it.
It has the same consistency as water and goes on to the cotton pad easily. You need about a tea spoon for your face and neck.
It really does soothe and refresh the skin. Yes, it feels slightly sticky but I can live with the stickiness. It is not too bad.

For INR 695, I feel its over-priced  – but its one of the good quality toners in the market.

This gentle toner has alcohol to some extent but you cannot smell alcohol at all.
You can see from the picture below that it takes out all traces of dirt with a single swipe.
I have sensitive/combination skin and it has not broken me out nor left my cheeks with that stretchy dried feeling. I think all skin types can use this product from TBS.
It will leave your skin clean, refreshed and smelling nice.
You can use it after cleansing your skin and before you apply your night cream. You can also use it the way that I do and spray it on to your face whenever you feel the need.
I also splash it on my face sometimes, the way a man uses his after shave.
Another great way to use this cucumber product is to do what most salons do – freeze some of into cubes and apply it to burnt or sore areas. It is going to be an ideal product for summer.
The ‘Yay’ factors:
  • Reputed brand
  • Cruelty free
  • Container made of 100% recycled plastic
  • Smells divine
  • Refreshing
  • Cleanses & tones at the same time
  • Goodness of cucumber
  • Cheaper when compared to high end brands
  • Can be emptied into a spray bottle
  • Suits sensitive skin too
  • Will suit all skin types
  • Ideal for summers
The ‘Nay’ factors:
  • Might be a little expensive for some
  • Has parabens
  • Not completely alcohol-free
  • Many fakes available in the market
HnB rating: 4/5
HnB Ed: Seems to be another hit product from the TBS stable… I too love spritzing rose water all over my face & neck to refresh myself after a long day… Nicely reviewed Chris… 🙂
