Rimmel Apocalips/Show Off Lip Lacquer (Apocaliptic)

Hey lovelies…

I am back with a review on an awesome lipstick in an awesome shade!

Yes.. I am talking about the Rimmel Apocalips Show Off Lip Lacquer in the shade Apocaliptic.

These are called Apocalips in India, while they got launched as Show Off Lip Lacquers abroad.

These liquid lipsticks were an instant hit when they were launched & still continue to be one of the most admired, when it comes to shade selection, pigmentation & ease of application.

All shades in this range are named after ‘Astronomical’ stuff… like Celestial, Nova, Apocaliptic, etc.

Price: INR 475 for 5.5 ml

Availability: At Rimmel counters & Parcos stores all over the country & online shopping portals – Nykaa & FeelUnique.

These comes in a long, glossy black tube. Half of the tube is transparent, so that you can make out the shades amidst all your other Apocalips.

The lid has a unique sponge doe foot applicator which screws in snugly to the bottom of the tube. The lid also has a unique design to it, resembling an uncut diamond! 🙂

The way I see it:

Apocaliptic is a hot pink – a bright fuchsia rather! Its got a little neonish tinge to it, but not something unwearable by our Indian skin tones.

I feel this shade would suit all skin tones very well.

Its such a bold shade, that all you need in your night-out is just this lipstick! 🙂 You can wear it on as a stain too, if you do not want to go bold with this one.

The texture of this liquid lipstick is perfect.. with the quality sponge applicator provided, it applies evenly on the lips.. doesn’t streak or bleed unlike most other liquid lipsticks or glosses.

There is a valve like thingie given at the tube opening, to control the quantity of lipstick the applicator picks up. The shape of the applicator also aids in smooth & even application, in the corners of the lips too.

The lipstick goes like butter on the lips, is non-sticky, does not settle into lip lines & does not suck the life out of the lips too – even though it dries to a semi-matte finish.

The intense pigmentation ensures that one swipe is good enough to cover pigmented lips.

It does transfer & also can stain the teeth at times (while application & until it dries or you blot).

It practically stays for about 3 hrs. on me without any drinks or meal… after a meal it leaves a bright pink tint on my lips that last about another 2 hrs. or so.

The good thing is that it does not fade or bleed unevenly, leaving me with bizarre painted lips.

This is one gorgeous shade, that is a must in any party animal’s kitty.

I too totally love this shade… but think I will use it very less.. cozzzzz….. I m not an party animal! 😛 😀

Here is how it looks on me –

Ciao soon with another post! 😀
