Revlon Photoready Foundation SPF 20 in Medium Beige – Review

Heyya gals..Today’s review is on Revlon Photoready Makeup Foundation with SPF 20 in shade Medium Beige (006).

Well.. let me tell you upfront that I have mixed reviews for this product.

After my Oriflame Matter foundation got over,  I was so confused to pick one and ended picking this.

INR 850 for 30 ml.

Key Ingredients:

Titanium dioxide, Zinc oxide

It comes in a glass jar with a pump to dispense the product and a black lid.

Though the jar is heavy, it is convenient to dispense the required amount of foundation.

But the black lid keeps coming off and is messy to carry around.

What the product claims:

● Beautifies you with poreless, airbrushed skin in any light.
● Provides complete yet undetectable coverage.
● Contains Photochromatic pigments that reflect light to erase every flaw.
● Oil free, fragrance free formulation with SPF 20.

How to use:

Using finger tips or foundation brush, blend foundation onto skin starting in the center of your face, forehead, nose and chin blending outward.

The way I see it:

To start with, only limited shades are available in this range.

I was badly tanned at the time I picked this foundation, so chose medium beige shade which suited my tanned skin better.

I have moved on to light beige now! 😉

This is a liquid foundation, with the right consistency making it apt for normal – dry skinned people like me.

One press of the pump is good enough for single use – to cover entire face & neck.

The foundation glides on the skin smoothly and is easy to blend. But moisturising the skin before is primary before applying the foundation – so that it doesn’t look patchy or cakey.

The product claims of complete coverage, though I would say it provides a little over medium coverage.
Well, I do not have much blemishes on my face to require some great coverage – so was not bothered about total coverage.

But it didn’t help me with my dark circles – and I had to go for a concealer.

The good news is that it comes with SPF 20 and the bad news is the same.

It causes a white cast prominently on the face – which doesnt show up when seen directly in person or in the mirror.

But the white cast is prominent in photos 🙁 – I wonder how they called it Photoready!

It is great to be used in the day even for daily wear but anytime of the day – if you take pictures you are sure get a glimpse of that white cast…

I do not have any pore problems, but can mention one thing that it gives a nice brushed effect as claimed.

It stays put on me the whole day around 9-10 hrs. easily without any primer or makeup base.. thumbs up on this factor.

This foundation can be used by beauties with all skin types.

Overall it is a decent buy when it comes to coverage, staying power, application but scores low on the white cast issue.

The ‘Yes’ factors:

  • Pump packaging
  • A little above medium coverage
  • SPF 20
  • Blends easily
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Air-brushed effect as claimed
  • Very good staying power
The ‘Nay’ factors:
  • Produces white cast
  • Doesn’t look good on pictures
  • No complete coverage as claimed
  • Only 4 shades available
HnB rating: 3.5/5
Recommend? – It is a great daily wear foundation with SPF but if you are into taking pictures quite often or a party animal.. this is not for you.
