Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup in Warm Golden

Hey gals…I am back with another review today.

This time its on a recent launch – Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup.

This cream foundation was launched in 3 shades in India (though 16 shades are available internationally) –

  • Natural Tan (darkest)
  • Warm Golden (medium)
  • Natural Ocher (lightest)
Though just 3 shades is not enough for all skin tones…. hopefully each of us get to pick the closest match from one of these…
Price: INR 800 for 23.7 ml.
Available online with discounts. I picked mine at 35% off from MedplusBeauty.
Shelf life: 3 yrs.
Ingredients: Not listed.
Packaging:
The creme comes in a heavy glass jar with a black screw-on lid. The black lid holds the shade label.
There is a plastic inner lid that protects the product from spilling over & messing up the cap.
Less hygienic since you have to dip your fingers to use the product and also not travel friendly.
What the product claims:
(From Revlon website)

The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin. And, the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All day flexible wear without flaking, caking or feeling heavy.

-Buildable to full coverage for flawless skin
-Soft, matte finish all day long
-Withstands heat and humidity – great for summer
-Comes in 16 beautiful shades
The product label claims that it is talc-free & paraben-free too.

The way I see it:

I am wheatish or medium skin toned. I picked Warm Golden of the three, which is the closest match to my skin tone.
Warm golden will suit medium skin tones the best & certain degrees of fair skinned too.
I sometimes think it has got pink undertones & sometimes yellow – really haven’t made my mind yet! 😀
The first impression is on the consistency of the product. It is somewhere in between a liquid foundation & a cream.
A mousse I would call it… but mind you..it is not like the dried-up looking Maybelline mousse foundation.
The fragrance is that of some castor oil but barely detectable..so no worries on this front.
I prefer applying foundation using my fingers only, as I believe the body heat helps to spread & blend it better onto the skin.
I apply this creme as dots over each area on the face & quickly spread it up & blend it. The creme gets easily absorbed into the skin & not much effort is required for blending too.
Plus the creme doesn’t dry up in a jiffy which makes spreading & blending more easier. This is a big big plus for me.
Since the product blends like a dream, there is no cakey or flaky look on the skin at all – hours after its application too.
But I am really not gonna buy the tall “24 hrs. claim”.
I have been wearing it everyday since last week I purchased this one- and I can vouch that it stays put for a really long time, say 8-9 hrs. on the skin.
It brings a subtle glow to the skin & the face still looks fresh at the end of the day (with minor touchup with compact).
It provides medium coverage instantly upon application, which can be again built up for full coverage.
It feels totally light on the skin & hasn’t broken me out in this one whole week.
There are no noticeable shimmers in the jar or on the hands after application – which is another “hit” with me. I hate products that give an artificial glow on the skin with illuminating particles.
A decent makeup remover is all you need to get rid of this foundation thoroughly.
I already love Colorstay Softflex Light Makeup from Revlon.. and this is the second product from Colorstay that again I am totally in love with.
One jar is going to last for months even when used on a daily basis.
This is definitely a great pick for all skin types looking for medium to full coverage.
The ‘Yes’ factors:
  • Medium to full coverage
  • SPF 20
  • Doesn’t break out
  • Spreads & blends effortlessly
  • Non-cakey & non-flaky

  • Wears for a long time (8-9 hrs)
  • Gives a subtle glow
  • No shimmer particles
  • Would last for months
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Talc free, paraben free

The ‘Nay’ factors:
