Ponds Gold Radiance Youthful Glow Day Cream SPF 15 PA++ – Product Review

Dear readers,The product taken up for review this time is Youthful Glow Day Cream with SPF 15 PA++ from the Ponds Gold Radiance range.

Had bought this product last May or June, when the product was just newly launched and admit that I have used this very less inspite of the heavy price and the tall claims that it came with.

Was looking out for a good day cream that comes with hydrating properties and the SA managed very well to thrust this into my shopping cart, as I didnt go into the store making up my mind to pick a particular product.

Price: INR 499 for 25 ml.

Shelf life: 24 months

It comes in an appealing packaging in gold. The container is a matte-gold pump which makes this cream travel-friendly, hygienic and easy to use too. The lid is made of transparent plastic which is sturdy and locks well to the container.

What the product claims:

“Recapture the radiance of your youth with this luxurious day cream, infused with real gold microparticles. Clinically proven to lift away skin dullness and reveal your skin’s youthful radiance. Provides SPF 15 and PA++ to protect the skin against UVA and UVB rays.

With regular use, your fine lines, wrinkles and age spots will fade from sight as luminosity is invigorated. Skin feels revitalized and more alive everyday.”

Non-comedogenic and dermatologist tested.

The way I see it:

I really like product in pump packagings but yes they also make it tough to make out how much product is left inside though.

Speaking about the product, the cream is creamy in color and texture. Easy to apply on the skin and immediately gives a sheen to the skin owing to the gold microparticles in it.

Was not a hydrating product though. One has to apply a moisturizer before this cream, so that your skin doesnt look dry and stretched. This served to be a big minus point since you have to use 2 products which might irritate one when you are in a hurry.

It also didn’t do any great thing to my skin unlike its claim. The glow it imparts is temporary and the day you stop using the cream, you are back to your original self – no glow and no improvement in the skin texture as well.

I also felt at times when I had taken out a little extra product and applied on the face, it looked kinda casted on the skin which totally disliked. You can make out small gold glitters all over your face and people standing close enough to you can make out as well.

This product is just lying in my shelf and I wonder when I am gonna finish this for good! 🙂

Overall, its a product worth enough to be missed.

The ‘Yes’ factors:

  • Pump packaging
  • Available in various outlets
  • SPF 15 presence

The ‘Nay’ factors:

  • No ingredients mentioned in the pump/carton
  • Cannot make out how much product is inside
  • Minute gold glitters all over the face (Atleast I hate it.. may vary for others)
  • No hydration
  • Didn’t work as per claim
