Today’s review is on Oxyglow Henna Shampoo.
I and hubby had been to my mom’s place recently and in the hurry to pack our bags, I forgot to throw in a shampoo.
That is how I happened to use this shampoo… 🙂
Price: INR 95 for 110 ml.
Aqua, SLES, SLS, Glycerin, Ginseng, Henna, Amla, Capsicum extract.
The shampoo comes in a cute, transparent bottle with a flip-open silver cap.
The container is sturdy and makes for a great travel companion too.
What the product claims:
Use this shampoo regularly for super strong hair that shines.
Ideal for all hair types, even colored hair, it gently cleans and nourishes the hair right from the root to the tips.
It not only repairs & revitalizes but also helps control hairfall & enhances hair volume.
The way I see it:
When I reached mom’s place and mentioned that I need to pick some shampoo bottle or sachets, mom showed me this one and asked me to try this out once.
I jumped for trying this out… cause I always wanted to try one oxyglow product plus I also get to write a product for review.. ;p
The shampoo is of bright, lime green in color and is a little runny in consistency.
The shampoo lathers well and one might have to repeat the shampoo if you have oiled your hair. I too used it twice the first time I used… and there was no conditioner to follow up with! 🙁
I had oiled before the wash so I convinced myself that I wont have any bad frizz or flyaways… and Viola!! There was not a single frizz or flyaway after the hair dried! 😀
There were tangles in the hair but nothing major though… the hair was soft, manageable & frizz-free.
I loved the way it gave a bounce to my hair and look all fluffy.
The fragrance is a mild one and smells of amla+henna (similar to Vatika hair oil actually!). Sensitive noses & people who don’t like shampoo fragrance lingering around will like this.
There is no fragrance or any smell on the hair post wash… Its just the smell of your own hair.(Weird?)
Next time I used the shampoo without any oil massage on the hair.. this time it fetched the same results.
I could so no effect on hairfall.. two time usage is too less to talk about it.
No great volume but yes there is a lovely decent bounce to the hair.
No marks on the shine factor too.. my hair just looked the same as before after each wash.
Quite impressed I am – for a cheaper shampoo with surfactants & without a conditioner follow-up!!!
Overall, its a decent shampoo, worth for the money which does not cause frizz even without a conditioner, lathers well, gets washed off easily, leaving no fragrance on the hair.
The ‘Yes’ factors:

- No frizz even without a conditioner
- Doesn’t dry hair
- Gives a decent bounce
- Compact for travel
- Decent pricing
- SLS, SLES
- Preservatives not mentioned
- No effect on hair shine
- Don’t expect much on hair volume
