Nyassa Belgian Chocolate Sugar Body Scrub

Hello gals…howz the week going?Let’s see about Nyassa Belgian Chocolate Sugar Scrub from my Jan’13 Vellvette Box.

This one product was a staple in all of the Vellvette boxes sent out this month.

I received a sample size of 40 g.

Price: INR 900 for 200 g.

Shelf life: 8 months from manufacturing

Ingredients:

Jojoba oil, Sunflower oil, Cocoa butter, Shea butter, Stearic acid, Sugar, BHT, Tween-20, Fragrance oil, Chocolate.

A caution on the label reads: Certain ingredients can also be allergic to some people. Discontinue if irritation occurs.

Packaging:

It comes in a pretty tin with a wide mouth & a screw-on lid. One can easily scoop out required amount with a spatula.

The tin is so cute and can be used later also to store your ubtans 🙂

What the product claims:

Don’t gain the calories but indulge in our range of finest Belgian Chocolate skincare products that are super rich in anti-oxidants.

The way I see it:

When you open the the tub – a luscious, sweet chocolate fragrance envelopes you. The fragrance is not artificial or overwhelming. So all the noses out there in the world are going to love it.

Coming to the texture… the sugar granules in the scrub are quite big & chunky. A lot of these chunky sugar spill when you start applying the scrub on the body. Read – WASTAGE!

When applied on moist skin, it glides smoothly and does its job decently well too.

The chocolate fragrance lingers as only long as its on your skin. Upon washing, there is no trace of the scrub’s fragrance on the body.

The fragrance would be preferred by even non-chocolate lovers like me.

The scrub is not at all harsh on the skin & does not leave it dry too.

The sample size I received had quantity worth using twice.

The scrub is a simple concoction of sugar, chocolate & some essentials oils…which I believe one can prepare themselves as a DIY…

Throw in some cocoa, sugar/salt and few drops of essential oils – you got your own body scrub ready.

Overall, a okie-dokie body scrub…not worth the huge price tag it comes with.

The ‘Yes’ factors:

  • Luscious chocolate fragrance
  • Impressive ingredients
  • Comes in a cute tin
  • Gentle on the skin
  • Does not dry the skin
  • 100% vegetarian

The ‘Nay’ factors:
  • Chunky sugar granules lead to wastage
  • Can be prepared at home easily too with some cocoa
  • Shelf life can be a concern with the full size

HnB rating: 3.5/5
Recommend? – Maybe no… prepare one for yourself at home…unless you are a hard-core chocolate lover.
