Hey all..Summer is round the corner.. and I can already feel its almost arrived here in Hyderabad.
Its time to take extra care to protect one’s skin from the harsh summer and the invisible UV’s. Get,set for this review and more to come your way on suncare products @ HnB..
The product to be reviewed in this post is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 50+ with Helioplex technology.
IMO – i am definitely a good critic when it comes to sunscreen, coz I have almost tried most drugstore brands when it comes to sunscreen/sunblock and have mixed reviews about them.
I picked up this sunblock three months ago and have been using it ever since religiously. Now that I have my own blog and summer too is here – no other time could be better than now for a review on this!
See the below pic for the complete list of ingredients in the sunblock.
Price: INR 450 for 88 ml.
Shelf life: 2 yrs.
The sunblock comes in a sturdy tube packaging which is the most convenient and hygienic of all. The tube is simple in terms of design and comes in white and sky blue shade.
What the product claims:
The below pic shows the product claim.
What is Helioplex?
Helioplex is a formulation of broad-spectrum ultraviolet (UVA and UVB) skin protection containing avobenzone and oxybenzone made by Neutrogena.
The way I see it:
Neutrogena Dry-Touch Sunblock has SPF 50+ and PA+++ for a broad spectrum protection from both UVA and UVB rays.
I have bad and a old tan for more than two years now and no matter how good a brand or higher SPF i buy and use – not only was I able to get rid of the tan but also was not able to protect my skin from further tanning too..
Read about rave reviews on this product over various forums and decided to give this one a try too.
Since then I have been loving this sunblock. It definitely protects my skin from recurring damage.
Though I wouldn’t say this has helped me get rid of my old tan, atleast the other skin routine I take to get rid of tan are working since there is not much daily damage happening to the skin – owing to Neutrogena.
It is a white cream and is easy to apply over the skin when moisturised. I have normal-dry skin and a pea-sized product is good enough for both faces and the neck.
If applied without a moisturizer, it would not be easy to blend atleast for my skin type. And a tad extra can make dry skins like me too to look greasy. So, I wouldn’t recommend this to oily skinned beauties.
It has not caused zits so far to me and is safe to use.
I use this only on my face and neck and use a different sunblock for my hands and legs, which I would be reviewing soon here @ HnB.
So, its a happy ending – Good protection at a good price!

Repurchase? For sure! This is my HG sunblock atleast for now.
Recommend? Without doubt… try a smaller sized-tube to check if it suits you.
