Internet was horribly slow at my place that I couldn’t dare to log into the net! 🙁
I wanted to do an OOTD post today.. this being my first here in the blog! 😀
We had been to a friend’s wedding a couple of weeks back & I got some good compliments for myself.. this served as the booster for this post.
Thank God! I am not showing up as the fatso I am.. in this pic! 😀
I wore a black chiffon saree which had multiple color stripes for the bottom half and super net material for the top half or the pallu.
The super net had big paisley patches made of antique-finish bronze sequins & thread work all over.
The saree border was of black velvet with antique bronze floral prints throughout.
The blouse material given with this saree was way too simple and so I decided to get the blouse stitched of my choice.
I picked some black cotton & benares material with similar bronze work and had it stitched to a design of my choice. The tailor & I together decided on the pattern for the blouse though! 🙂
I could not get a nice set in black with antique finish after so much of hunting & so decided to mix & match the stuff I already had with me.
I wore a big ring with jhumki adorned with black beads for the earrings.
The neckpiece was a casual pick while shopping online sometime back. I actually wanted to wear this for my casual outings in kurti – but thought this would suit this saree as well.
And I really loved the way it went with my saree.. I got compliments from hubby & friends for the neckpiece though initially both hubby & I were doubtful of how it would suit the attire.
I wore a single, broad Rajasthani kada with stonework all over in each hand for bangles.
I totally wanted to keep the makeup minimal, letting my outfit do all the talking.
Here is the breakdown of the makeup I wore:
Moisturizer: Avon Solutions Youth Minerals Day Cream
Primer: Clarins Paris Beauty Flash Balm
Foundation: Revlon Colorstay Foundation with Softflex
Concealer: Oriflame Concealer for Eyes in Gold
Compact: Maybelline Clear Glow Pressed Powder
Eyeliner: Lakme Waterproof Insta Liner
Kohl: Faces Long wear Eye Pencil in Solid Black
Eyeshadow: A matte soft pink & pearlescent brown shade from the Pro 120 eyeshadow palette.(Reviewed by me at Wiseshe).
Lipstick: Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Summer Sunset (Reviewed by me in WiseShe)
I forgot to carry a gloss with me 🙁 😀
We had a blast of a time with old pals…. Took photos until we got hungry…. Had a mega food binge..
The wedding party finally wrapped up by 3 am in the morning and we got back to our respective rooms for some much needed sleep.
Phew… not to forget that I had to remove makeup before I could hit the bed!
Hope you all liked this OOTD post of mine.. Do drop your comments & suggestions in the comments section below! 🙂
