DESCRIPTION – The Matte Lip is here to stay. Create a standout look with the fashion-forward new shades of our iconic matte lipstick.
MAC La Vie En Rouge comes in the original standard black MAC case. The pack along with the bullet is quite sturdy but it is actually difficult to look for a particular shade in one’s MAC lipstick stash as there is no outer color indicator.
Mac Describes it as ‘Bright orange coral’ which is quite so the shade itself. The shade is very unique from all the corals I own or have seen. It is bright and a deep coral shade which looks more orange in flash/bright light. The color is definitely going to suit all skin tones except maybe on very dark skin tones.
I just love to wear this shade these days as it is bright and unusual in its own pretty way.
After reviewing MAC Matte Damn Glamorous Lipstick from the same range, I find La Vie En Rouge to be creamier than the former.
It is highly pigmented and a single swipe is all you need for the color to pop up. The color doesn’t feather or bleed. It appears a little glossy initially in bright light.
The lipstick has a very good staying power and stay put for around 5 hours on me with a meal in between. It fades away evenly and doesn’t settle in fine lines.
THE ‘YAY’ FACTORS
· A gorgeous and unique coral.
· Universally flattering
· Creamy and goes on smoothly.
· Great staying power.
· Highly pigmented
· Sturdy packaging
· Shade doesn’t bleed or feather
· Shade won’t settle in fine lines while fading.
THE ‘NAY’ FACTORS
· Packaging could have been better as this was a limited edition lipstick.
Just because this is a limited edition shade, I cannot give full points here but if you wanted to pick just 1 shade from this entire collection, it has to be La Vie En Rouge. The shade is just too pretty a coral to leave.
