MAC Cleanse Off Oil

Review by Christina.Hey all.. I am back with another review of mine. This time a MAC creation – the MAC Cleanse Off Oil.

Price: INR 1500 for 150 ml.

The way I see it:

If you use coconut or olive oil to take off your make up – then don’t! Here is a review of an oil that is made to clean off your facial makeup, grime & dirt.

I found this product by accident around 4 years back. It is the best cleanser that I have used so far!
I have combination skin that leans towards oily and inspite of that, this product has worked well on me & not affected in any bad way. No pimples and no white heads caused too!
Texture –  It is not thick, not oily and does not leave any residue behind like other natural oils. It is has a very thin consistency.
How to use – To use this cleansing oil, you have to take about a coin sized amount. You have to massage it on your face over your makeup applied face.
Do not worry about the oiliness because that will go away as soon as you rinse if off.
When it comes in contact with water it turns milky white or in other words, emulsifies into a lotion-type liquid with water and goes off completely without any soap!
My eyes get blurry for a while if it gets into them while trying to remove eye makeup, but then gets okay in about a minute. This seems to be the only con that I can find with this solution. I prefer Lancome Bi-Facil for my eyes rather than this oil, for this one reason.
My skin feels clean and hydrated. It does not get that taut dry feeling. It removes all traces of makeup – the most stubborn of eye makeup and the most resistant of lip colors.

I love that it also cleans the face thoroughly of foundation and compact powder.
If you are looking for a quality makeup removing product, then I would highly recommend that you give this one a try.
Another plus is that it comes with a pump dispenser that is lockable too….
I’ve also used it to clean my Shiseido foundation brush and with just a tiny bit it removes all of stubborn foundation and its residue from the bristles. Two in one there! 🙂
The ‘Yay’ factors:
  • Gentle yet effective makeup remover
  • Botanically formulated
  • 100% mineral oil free
  • Removes waterproof mascara too
  • Rinses off easily
  • Leaves no residue behind
  • Contains Vitamin E
  • Contains skin softeners & conditioners
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Comes with a pump dispenser
  • Nozzle can be locked, suitable for travelling
The ‘Nay’ factors:
  • Makes the eyes blurry
  • MAC stores in select cities only
  • Pricey

HnB Ed – Lancome Bi-Facil has always been on wishlist since eternity.. probably should add this one too now… 🙂 For now I am using my DIY Makeup Remover & totally loving it!
