Lotus Herbals Pure Colors Lipstick in Carnation – Review

Hey dear ones..Managed to get some free time from office chores today.. its been hectic past 2 weeks!

Today’s review is on one of my recent love – Lotus Herbals Pure Color Lipstick in shade Carnation.

I picked this one after taking suggestions from fellow bloggers on a good coral shade.. I am thankful to everyone who suggested this product to me.. 🙂

Now that I have made it evident that this lipstick is a hit with me… lets jump to the review..

Price: INR 245 for 4.2 g (Got this for INR 220 from UT)

The lipstick comes in a cute, rustic gold package with floral motifs printed in gold again. The packaging is simple, sturdy and looks good to carry around as well.

The shade number and name is printed at the bottom of the lipstick.

The lock of the cap is good too and so far didn’t face any mess out of it in the handbag.

What the product claims:

(From their website)

Lotus Herbals Pure Colors Lip Color has natural extracts of Jojoba and Aloe Vera. The unique product qualities are:

1.Uniform dispersion of pigments.
2.Rich payoff.
3.Smooth application.

The way I see it:

The lipstick is a nice pinkish coral shade which brightens up the face upon application.

It is matte and contains no shimmer. Thus is ideal for everyday wear – even to work!

It is easy & smooth to apply, though I feel it could have been creamier.

I really cannot comment on the moisturation properties of this lipstick. I got dry lips and roam around with lip balm applied throughout.

I always use a lip balm underneath my lipsticks or lipgloss – this actually made the application of this lippie more easier..

In a single swipe, the shade is more pinkish. Once you build the color, its a nice pinkish coral you will adore on your lips.

The staying power of the lipstick is average; about 3-4 hrs max without any drinking or eating in between.
It leaves a nice pinkish orange tint after it fades away.

It does not settle into fine lines and does not bleed too.

Well, if you too apply a lipbalm underneath your lipstick – make sure that you use a good absorbing yet moisturising one. It does bleed and fade faster when applied over a lipbalm that just stays intact on the lips like some coating..

Overall, this is a very nice pinkish coral shade that will suit all Indian skin tones from fair to wheatish to dusky. Worth a try!

The ‘Yes’ factors:

  • Interesting ingredients
  • Beautiful pinkish coral shade
  • Does not settle into lines
  • Does not bleed
  • Decent staying power
  • Ideal for everyday wear
  • Suitable for all Indian skin tones

The ‘Nay’ factors:

  • Could have been creamier
  • Some transparent packaging for identifying shades easily could be nice

HnB rating: 4.5/5

There are some interesting shades in this Pure Colors range from Lotus Herbals. I am thinking of picking “Peach Creme” the next time which is also a nice coral shade.

Have you tried any of the lipsticks from this range? What’s your verdict?
