This time the review is on L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Rejuvenating Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream.
This is my third product under the dermo-expertise range.. I have previously used their SPF40 matter sunscreen (which I am not a big fan of) and also presently using their Revitalift Toner (which I will be reviewing sooner in HnB).
Well had to pick up this product since I was on the look out for a day cream and seriously had no idea to pick which one. This product is again a purchase since the SA pushed for.. 😀
Aqua and glycerin are the top two ingredients. Contains paraben and sodium benzoate as well.
The list was too big and was way too chemical to post here! 😉
Price: INR 1099 for 50 ml.
Shelf life: Not mentioned
Comes in a transparent glass jar with a black cover and an inner lid too. The jar doesn’t have any info about the product and one has to depend on the carton for all the information.
Traditional packaging in a sturdy jar.
What the product claims:
“Visibly younger looking skin. Texture melts into the skin. Hydrating and smoothing – refreshing on application.”
1 Hour: Skin feels smoother, rehydrated and looks more radiant.
1 Week: Features appear more rested, skin tone looks more luminous
1 Month: Wrinkles appear visibly reduced. Skin looks rejuvenated.
The way I see it:
I was definitely not looking for an anti-wrinkle cream since I don’t have any but for a few lines under my eyes. So just thought of trying this cream out – since it is always good to start the anti-aging regime earlier being in my late twenties.
I have been using this cream for more than two months now. It is pale white in color and is a good moisturiser and immediately nourishes my skin upon application. It is light-weight thus making the application easier and the finish is also neat.
I have a little dry skin and so this cream is good enough to provide me required moisture and also doesn’t make me feel greasy under humid conditions. It is also a perfect base for my sunscreen and foundation follow up everyday.
The fragrance of the cream is plainly too chemical.. even the Revitalift toner smells the same.. this is one thing I really hate in both the products… but yes the smell won’t bother one for long.. since it disappears in a few minutes after applicaton.
It did not cause any breakouts to me so far…
My facial skin has definitely improved over the months but I would not attribute that to this cream alone. I have been following religious regimes for the skin and so they surely do have a part in its improvement.
I use it only once a day in the morning.. though the product mentions about applying in the evening too..My fine lines under the eyes are still the same and this product has definitely not worked on them. Probably, one might need to use this for a pretty long time to see results…
The product mention about 3 patents pending for this cream which I find is too tall a claim.
Overall, its a good moisturizer which would suit combination/normal to slightly dry skin. But very dry skinned beauties may not get enough moisture from this product.
The ‘Yes’ factors:
- Easily available
- Good moisturiser
- No breakouts
The ‘Nay’ factors:
- Too pricy for the quantity
- Chemical fragrance
- Doesn’t work on the wrinkles/lines
- Loaded with chemicals
- No SPF
Overall product: 2.5/5 (Minus for the fragrance, price and the tall claims)
Repurchase? – No! Would pick up some other product for hydration in a cheaper price.
Recommend? – Not sure. If you are looking for an anti-wrinkle cream, may be you can give it a try.. which I believe one has to continue usage for a long time to see results.
