Lipbalm Mela #7 – Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate SPF 10 Lip Balm – Review!

Here comes the last & the final post in the Lipbalm Mela series. This product is one of my favorites. Its Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate Lip Balm with SPF 10.

Nivea also has Guava, Strawberry & Dragon Fruit flavored lip balms in this collection. I am so very wanting to try out the Dragon Fruit next time around.

Price: INR 129 for 4.8 g

Shelf life: 30 months

Packaging:

It comes in the chapstick tube – with a red lid and a white bottom.

Convenient to use and carry too. The lid locks well to the bottom, so non-messy.

What the product claims:

Discover a delicious fruity flavor & fabulous reddish shimmer.

Contains fruit extracts & shimmering pigments with Moisture Store formula.

The way I see it:

The first thing I and anybody would notice is the distinct fragrance of this lip balm.

It isn’t totally of pomegranate though –  I feel it smells much of berries too.

It gives a mild reddish tint to the lips – like a lip stain, which ain’t to bright, that one has to fear wearing red on their lips.

I would actually say its a soft maroonish red with blue undertones.

It helps a little in hiding pigmentation and one wouldn’t need a lipstick on top of this for everyday casual wear or for office.

It has very tiny silver shimmers that are visible easily though. It gives a glossy finish to the balm, but yes stays back a little over the lips once the lip balm is gone.

The balm glides effortlessly on the lips, thanks to it being creamier and keeps the lips moisturized.

It stays put say for 1-1.5 hrs normally without any food or drinks in between.

Not ideal as a night lip balm due to the fragrance, tint & moisturizing effect too. It might just not work on very dry/chapped lips nor help healing lip crack if one has any.

I feel its just a cheap alternative to a lip gloss with some moisturizing properties.

Ideal for college or office goers to wear red without having to worry about it.

The strong fragrance may not be liked by sensitive noses, but a treat to the one that love fruity flavors.

Here’s a swatch for you all to check out.
