Lipbalm Mela #6 – Lotus Herbals Velvety Rose Lip Therapy SPF15 – Review!

Here comes the sixth post in the Lipbalm Mela series. The sixth lipbalm to be reviewed is Lotus Herbals Velvety Rose Lip Therapy.

I am a sucker for anything that smells of rose.. this one was a natural choice for me!

Lets see how good this one turned out to be..

Price: INR 99 for 4 g. ( They have increased their prices to INR 135 now though)

Shelflife: 3 yrs.

Key Ingredients:

Shea butter, Kokum butter, Velvety rose extract.

What the product claims:

Rehydrates, Heals, Protects.

It comes in the stick format which is ideal to use. Travel friendly and hygienic too.

The stick is of pale yellow shade. The bottom screw for the roll-on doesnt work properly most of the times. Probably it is just the fault with my stick.

The way I see it:

The lip balm is of light pink shade. It looks dry in the chapstick though…  I wondered how such a dry stuff is gonna moisturize my lips… !! 🙂

But it glides smoothly on the lips and feels non-sticky too.

It does not feel waxy or stays put on the lips like a coating… ideal to  be used a lipstick base!

The rose fragrance is very mild when in the tube only… and almost zero when on the lips. Sensitive noses & people who generally do not prefer rose fragrance too can pick this without worries.

It moisturises the lips pretty well. But I am not sure how well it well on cracked or chapped lips.

Has SPF 15 which is an added advantage to use it day time or under a lipstick.

A decent lip balm with impressive ingredients & SPF15.. suitable as a lipstick base for normal to slightly fry lips.

The ‘Yes’ factors:

  • Roll-on packaging
  • Easily available
  • Mild rose fragrance
  • Soothes lips decently well
  • SPF 15

The ‘Nay’ factors:

  • May not work on chapped/very dry lips that well
  • Steeply increased price over 6 months

HnB rating: 3.5/5

Recommend? Yes! Worth one try to check if you like it.. Comes in a variety of flavors!
