#Lancome Le Crayon Khol – Black Ebony

Kohled eyes and Indian women are such a match made in heaven… till death do us apart! 😀

Honestly, I get as excited about trying kajal liners from different brands, as lipsticks! I believe all of us are forever on the look out for that one kohl – which is jet black, smudge-proof, water-proof, suits sensitive eyes, glides like butter and stays forever on our eyes!

Oops… that’s quite long a list! I am going to be reviewing a kohl in this post today from Lancome – Lancome Le Crayon Khol (French spelling of Kohl may be??!!) in the shade Ebony Black.

Also don’t miss to participate in my ongoing Lancome Instagram Giveaway to win some exciting lip products from the brand (not a sponsored giveaway!)

Let’s see how this product fared…

LANCOME LE CRAYON KHOL – EBONY BLACK

PRICE – 26 USD

Packaging wise it looks sleek – a thin, long pencil in black with gold embedded fonts and a classy black lid. It looks very lady like!

The shade is also quite a deep black, but not the blackest of blacks! Its buttery and glides easily without having to tug or pull on the eyes. Two swipes should give the desired boldness in the eyes.

I have tried this both in the waterline, upper and lower lash lines and haven’t had any irritation or sensitiveness with my watery eyes.
Coming to the factors on staying power, being water or smudge proof, this is where this pencil fails miserably!
It smudges like its nobody’s business and one would end up with raccoon eyes in an hour or even less! With my watery eyes, I transformed myself into a panda in no time! 😀
This is the case with even setting it down with some eye shadow and stuff to prevent it from smudging… I guess its something with the formula itself! Too creamy a formula, gone wrong with staying power and smudge properties!
Only thing I like to do with this pencil is to do quick black smokey eyes, but again I ensure I set it down with some powder to prevent from creasing and sticking up everywhere on my lids!
Plus this needs to be sharpened, leading to product wastage. Any pencil sharpener you have should be good to be used with this.
I hope the long pencil is full of product, the only solace for having to pay such a high price for a dud of a kohl!

I am thankful to my stars, I didn’t pay for this product actually. I picked this over a crazy deal – Buy any Lancome product and pay 50 USD to get a makeup train case filled with products over 350 USD and happened to score this one in it!
I would simply not recommend anyone to even try this for a tester too! Recently launched Maybelline Lasting Drama Eye Pencils are super cops when compared to this one!
Have you tried this kohl? What are your thoughts?
