Lakme Sun Expert After Sun Face Wash

Hey gals…I am a little sad that weekend is coming to a close! How about you people?

Today I am gonna be reviewing – Lakme Sun Expert After Sun Face Wash!

Well this has been my face wash for the past 1.5 months and now that summer is over, monsoons are set and there is only little left in this tube.. I decided to review it for you all before its too late..

Price: INR 74 for 50 g.

Mango yellow tube with flip-open cap. Simple & catchy package. They have revamped their packaging now, but I happened to pick this old-packaging.

The nozzle is little big that it tends to get messy and also the flip-cap is a tad too tight.

Aqua, SLES, Carbomer, Polyquatemium 39, Cocoamidopropyl betaine, Glycerine, Perfume, Microcrystalline Wax beads White, Cocoamide MEA, Sodium Hydroxide, Menthol, Ethylexyl methoxycinnamate, Ethylexyl salicylate, Allantion, Niacinamide, Propylene Glycol, Lemongrass extract, Cucumber fruit juice, Lactic acid, CI 15985, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butyl carbamate.

What the product claims:

Specially formulated with UV filters and anti-tan skin soothing ingredients, cleanses and calms sun exposed skin helping it recover. Gentle yet effective it cleanses skin from the innermost pores.

With Cucumber & Lemongrass extracts it soothes & protects skin from common forms of skin irritation post sun exposure and leaves a tingling fresh & clean feel.

The way I see it:

The face wash is actually of yellowish transparency and one can find few tiny beads here and there in it.

It produces good lather and the tiny beads are hardly to be found upon application on the skin. Sometimes, you get to feel one and the bead is not rough to bother the skin.

The fragrance is refreshing that of lemon grass primarily and is soothing to the noses. People who do not prefer citrusy or lemongrass fragrance might not like it.

It is easy to wash off and doesn’t make the skin overtly dry.. but following up with a moisturiser is a must!

It gives a tingly feel while washing due to the menthol present in it and makes the experience all the more better.

It does not dry or stretch the skin out due to glycerine and allantoin added to it.

It does leave the skin bright after a wash which is short-lived and manages to remove dirt & impurities from the skin. But not that effective in removing makeup – particularly stubborn eye makeup!

It might help in removing a light or recent tan but not the older ones.. this is from my personal experience.. i have a old tan that no product seems to work on 😀

Overall, a decent face wash, smelling fresh & tingling, easy on the pocket, leaves the skin bright post-wash and does not cause any breakouts. Ideal for all skin types and worth a try in the summers.

The ‘Yes’ factors:

  • Sturdy packaging
  • Fresh smell
  • Tingling feel
  • Leaves skin clean
  • Does not cause breakouts
  • Lathers well
  • No parabens
  • Might remove a light tan
  • Suitable for all skin types

The ‘Nay’ factors:

  • SLES
  • Does not remove older tans

HnB rating: 4/5

Repurchase? – May be in the next summer!

Recommend? – Yeah.. give it a try.. you may like it atleast for the cool, tingling feel.
