Lakme Fruit Blast Face Wash in Berry Lush

Hey all…Posting an article after quite a long time.. loads of travelling happening my way!

Finally managed to do a post on Lakme Fruit Blast Face Wash in Berry Lush today.

Its been quite some time since Lakme launched their Fruit Blast range which is fruit-based as the name goes.

Since I & fruity fragrance don’t get along that well, took a long time to try this one.

Price: INR 70 for 50 g

Aqua, SLES, Carbomer, Polyquarternium-39, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Glycerine, Perfume, Frageria Vesca (Strawberry) seeds, Cocamide MEA, Sodium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Raspberry Fruit Extract, Strawberry Fruit Extract, Passionfruit Fruit Extract, Menthol, CI 14700, CI 17200, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate.

It comes in a cute raspberry pink translucent tube with a white flip-open cap. The cap is too sturdy for me that I struggle with it everytime to open.

One can also see how much more product is left in the tube. Very handy for travelling.

What the product claims:

Feel juicy fruit extracts of raspberry & strawberry re-energize your face with every wash.

While the strawberry exfoliator seeds gently brush away impurities, raspberry & passionfruit extracts re-hydrate skin leaving it tingling fresh with the aroma of natural berries.

The way I see it:

The first thing that I liked about this product is the nice, sturdy packaging. Totally travel friendly and cute to carry around in your bag.

I picked Berry Lush because this is the one that I felt to have the mildest fruity fragrance of all in this range.

It has a nice raspberry fragrance though appears to be a little artificial to me.

It is of a mild gel consistency in bright reddish pink. There are few strawberry seeds in the face wash but just about one or two come out rarely.

The face wash lathers well and very little fragrance is felt when applied on the skin.

The strawberry seeds won’t do anything for the skin – forget exfoliation! 🙂

When it comes to cleaning the skin, it is pretty effective – it removes all the dirt, impurites, oil on the skin and leaves it clean & fresh.

It can remove some light makeup – but not effective on waterpoof makeup. You definitely need a makeup remover to get the makeup removal job done.

There is mild tingling feel around the eye area sometimes.

It does not dry out the skin and I think would suit all skin types.

Let me tell you one more secret – I don’t use this on my face anymore!

Yes! I use this as a shower gel.. The fragrance is mild & just suitable for a evening shower.

The only con is the fragrance just vanished away immediately…

This doubles up as a face wash + shower gel during travel.. so I don’t need to carry separate products all the time! 🙂

The ‘Yes’ factors:

  • Sturdy, cute packaging
  • Available in 4 fruity fragrances
  • Mild on the skin
  • Does not cause breakouts
  • Doubles up as a shower gel
  • Non-messy, travel friendly
  • Leaves the skin clean & fresh
  • No parabens
The ‘Nay’ factors:
  • The fragrance vanishes immediately
  • Not effective in removing makeup [though it never claimed to ;)]

HnB rating: 4/5

Recommend? – I am definitely going to try the other fragrances from this range.

If you haven’t tried the face washes from Fruit Blast range – you should pick atleast one!
