Lakme Complexion Care (CC) Cream

Hey gals.. Happy Friday & have a lovely weekend ahead! :)Reviewing the recent rage in the beauty market for you all today – the Lakme CC Cream!

Announced in the press about a month ago, launched online & offline close to 3 weeks before – this product has been making waves around with rave reviews.

Read on to know what I think about this new baby…

Price: INR 250 for 30 ml.

What the product claims:

The outer carton is a deep pink with clear details on ingredients, how to use & the likes. I didn’t like the carton much for its PINK!

The product comes in a beige, glossy tube with a silver screw-on cap. The nozzle is tiny & just perfect to let enough product let out for each use.

Good scores on the tube packaging to Lakme!

The way I see it:

You must all be already aware that only 2 shades are available – Beige & Bronze.

Since this is a new launch & there are no swatches or reviews available online/offline, I just did a guesswork of picking Beige, thinking Bronze might be too darker for me.

Let me also mention here that I am NC42 in MAC.

The cream texture is that of a liquid foundation, a little on the thicker side. It takes a little time to blend.

I always use my fingers & my normal skin needs to be perfectly moisturized before I apply this product. This product could be a boon for combination-oily skin.

The product claims it moisturizes – but it isn’t hydrating enough. Normal/dry skin need to be well hydrated before applying the CC cream, so as to avoid patchiness.

Simply put – I am sure this product will work for all skin types.

The coverage is light or sheer as I would like to call it. It doesn’t conceal dark circles or cover-up blemishes. It is similar to a tinted moisturizer, apt for everyday use.

It does brighten the skin instantly upon application.

It settles to a matte finish which combination-oily skinned beauties are gonna love. The matte finish does not look drying on my normal skin too. Kudos on this front!

With some powder, the final look is very natural – as if I have not applied anything on my skin at all.

Staying power:

I have had this CC cream on me for 8 hrs. continuously & it just needs some touch-up after 2-3 hrs., may be twice a day.

Shade choice:

The shade Beige which I am currently trying now, is light for me. When applied, it initially leaves a whitish cast on me.

I leave it to settle on me for about the next 7-10 minutes & then dust some translucent powder or compact over it.

No sign of whitish cast after it settles down & such a natural,semi-matte finish is all I am left with! <3

I am thinking of trying Bronze the next time around… 🙂

Overall, I am totally loving this product for now.. its my go-to product everyday these days!

The ‘Yay’ factors:

  • Pretty packaging
  • Travel friendly
  • Brightens the skin instantly
  • Settles to a semi-matte,natural finish
  • Ideal for combination-oily skinned
  • Suitable for all skin types
  • Normal-dry skinned people will like it too with a proper hydrated skin
  • Light coverage
  • Stay put easily for 8 hrs. on me
The ‘Nay’ factors:
  • Moisturizer is a must underneath for normal-dry skin
  • Only 2 shades available
  • The shade -beige could be lighter on many!
  • Needs touch-up after 2-3 hrs.
Its definitely a product worth-trying & Lakme has hit the right wicket with this CC cream! 🙂
