Jordana Lipstick in Barely Pink – Review & Swatches!

Lovely gals..TGIF!!! How are you feeling??? 🙂

Today’s review post is on a lipstick from Jordana in the shade Barely Pink.

Jordana cosmetics has become a rave among women these days. They are dirt cheap in the US whereas in India too they retail at competitive yet affordable rates.

Price:  USD 1 (~ INR 55)

In India, too various online shopping sites sell this in the range of INR 120-150.

The stick comes in a silver bottom with a transparent cap. The quality of the plastic is cheap definitely – but one can’t expect more for 55 rupees worth product.

It is easier to identify the shade in a bunch of lipsticks.

What the product claims:

  • Full coverage, dazzling color
  • Rich & creamy texture
  • Lightweight, smooth-glide application
  • Soft shine finish

The way I see it:

This shade – Barely Pink – is a nice. girly pink with very tiny shimmers.

The name is apt for the shade, just barely there. You can check out the swatch pic below.

It is a  very subtle pink and requires multiple swipes to show up brighter on the skin & hide pigmented lips.

The pigmentation is decent and really wish it was better.

When applied, it gives a pearly finish on the lips and the shimmers are not visible prominently. Thus it makes for a good, daily wear lipstick – even to office.

The fragrance is that of a strawberry bubble gum which is lovely and not overboard. Sensitive noses might like this fragrance.

The staying power is low – 2 to 2.5 hrs. without any meals or drink in between. After food, it leaves a light pinkish tint over the lips.

It does not bleed but tends to settle a little into lines. But nothing that would make your lips undesirable.

The lipstick is not very moisturising and dries the lips a little. So it is good to have a lip balm underneath.

In my opinion this would suit fair and medium skin toned people better.

Overall, its an average lipstick with decent pigmentation and staying power. Ideal for college gals, since it is easy on the pocket.

Good for beginners to trial which shade suits their skin tone better.

The ‘Yes’ factors:

  • Affordable price
  • Pearly finish
  • Does not bleed
  • Bubble gum fragrance
  • Suitable for daily wear
  • Available in more than 20 shades

The ‘Nay’ factors:

  • Pigmentation could be better
  • Availabilty (Though it is solved to greater extent by online shopping)

HnB rating: 3/5

Repurchase? – I might want to try some other shade from this range.

Recommend? – Good pick for college-goers & makeup-beginners.
