How Yoghurt Benefits Your Hair?

Good Morning beauties!

HOW YOGHURT BENEFITS
YOUR HAIR?

We are well aware that yoghurt has great health benefits
on the digestive system and also on the skin.
It is reach in probiotics – the good bacteria, thereby making
it beneficial not only for the body & skin, but also the hair.
Wondering how?  Read
on to know more about yoghurt – as food for hair!
Yoghurt helps in hair growth better than its normal rate.
Eating yoghurt regularly helps in keeping hair healthy, shiny & strong.
And we are talking about plain, unsweetened, unflavored
yoghurt here! 🙂
YOGHURT PROTEIN &
HAIR

Yoghurt is a good source of protein, which also happens to
be the essential nutrient for hair growth.
If you intake less protein, your body may divert it for
internal organs leaving less for your hair & nails.
Yoghurts contain some hair-building protein – thus make for a
great hair mask.
CONDITIONING EFFECTS

Yoghurt has great conditioning properties too.
It is a boon
for dry & brittle hair. It softens the hair and also strengthens the
follicles.
Yoghurt gives an immediate shine to the hair and also
reduces hair fly-aways.
The enzymes in yoghurt soothe the scalp and also fight
dandruff to some extent.
HOW TO USE YOGHURT?

FOR NORMAL HAIR
If
you don’t have itchy scalp or dandruff problem, just apply yoghurt only to the
open hair and ends, leave it for 30 minutes and wash it with a mild shampoo.
See the shine & softness in the hair for yourself after
just a single wash!
FOR ITCHY SCALP/DANDRUFF-PRONE HAIR
Add
few drops of lemon juice to yoghurt and apply all over the scalp and hair
strands and leave for 30 minutes.
Use this pack twice a week to get rid of flaky scalp &
dandruff.
FOR DRY/DAMAGED HAIR

If your hair looks dull & frizzy and prone to breakage
due to constant coloring, ironing or blow-drying,try this out.
Beat one egg until it gets
frothy. Add ½ cup of yoghurt and few drops of olive oil to this mixture and use
as a hair mask.
Slightly damp your hair and apply this mask. Keep the mask
for 15-20 minutes on the hair and follow with shampoo.
One might skip the
conditioner.
The lactic acid present in yoghurt helps in hydrating &
soothing the hair strands.
Wrap the head in a hot towel for better conditioning.
FOR OILY HAIR

Oily hair or people with oily scalp generally prefer to keep
away from yoghurt .
But need not be the case!
Oily hair people can mix yoghurt
with henna powder and apply it as hair mask for the scalp & hair. You can
add few drops of lemon juice or coffee decoction to the mix.
While yoghurt nourishes the hair and brings it back to life,
henna absorbs the excess oil from the scalp and hair thereby making it
non-sticky.
Keep the pack for not more than 15 minutes & repeat once
in a fortnight only.
Apart from using yoghurt directly for the hair, make it a
regular part of your diet, so as to reap the benefits from within for your
overall well-being.
