Beauties…Read about a very nice body scrub that can be easily made at home with easily available ingredients in an online magazine. Thought of sharing the same with you all.
Olive oil – 2 tsp.
Almond oil – 2 tsp.
White sugar – 1/2 cup
Lavender Essential Oil – 1 to 3 drops
- Mix/whisk all the above ingredients well in a bowl
- Transfer it to an airtight container
Sounds so simple, isn’t it! This scrub can be stored in refrigerator for 2-3 weeks if kept away from water. Coz, water dissolves sugar.
Scoop required amount for application once or twice a week.
Actually i think this is an excellent blend and so very suitable to winter. Its totally natural and no harmful chemicals.
Lets see the good things in this scrub. Olive oil is loaded with vitamins and minerals and is a natural moisturizer. It also helps in firming the skin. Almond oil too nourishes the skin well and adds a glow to the skin. Sugar is a well know natural exfoliator and Lavender oil is good for regenerating skin cells.
There were some other interesting facts mentioned in this article:
- Swap the sugar for salt, get a coarser scrub that can work well on callus too.
- Replace 1/2 cup sugar with 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup of freshly ground coffee. Choose a coffee that is free from flavors and syrups, so that they don’t bother your skin.
Now you get to have a coffee scrub and indulge in its aroma too!
I am planning to make this scrub – the plain variant over the weekend for a New Yr. bodily treat! 🙂
