Today’s post is on a Do It Yourself (DIY) Gel Scrub with the simplest of ingredients available!
You would need(for one time usage):
- Aloe vera gel – 2 tbsp.
- Powdered Oatmeal – 1tsp.
- Mint leaves juice (Pudina) – 1 tbsp.
I am presently using Fabindia’s Aloe Vera Gel(reviewing soon) which is close to natural aloe pulp. One can either use the natural aloe or buy any aloevera gel brand from the market.
Just crush some rolled oats in a mortar or mixer to form a medium-fine powder. Store it in a container for ready use in the scrub later.
For Normal/Dry skin:
Mix the oatmeal powder with aloe vera gel in a bowl and apply it all over your face.
Leave it for 2 mins. and then massage well to reveal brighter looking skin.
For Combination/Oily skin:
Add a few drops of mint juice to the oatmeal-aloe gel and then apply on face and neck.
Massage for few minutes to reveal brighter, less oily skin.
This gel scrub can be used as a body scrub also!

Aloe vera gel is a multi-purpose product known for its moisturizing & soothing properties.
Oatmeal is a very good exfoliant and also has skin rejuvenating properties.
Mint is a renowned astringent which controls sebum production and also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent.
One can add just a single drop of tea tree essential oil to this gel scrub in place of mint juice.
Hope you all liked this simple, quick to make DIY Gel Scrub! 🙂
