Cleansing balms and oils are my favorites when it comes to makeup removal! Not only they melt away all kinds of makeup but also provide much required hydration that my normal-dry skin yearns for!
One of the coveted cleansing balms that I ordered from UK never reached me sadly, thanks to Indian customs – leaving me to hunt for one that is easily available in India.
Though everyone raves about The Body Shop’s Chamomile Cleansing Balm & Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm in the blogosphere, somehow I never felt like picking them, owing to the long list of chemical ingredients that goes into their making!
I chanced upon Ciate Makeup Melter and immediately picked one for myself.

MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT
This review comes to you after 10 days of using this cleansing balm for makeup removal.
This is a new launch from Ciate London right in for the holiday and I am glad its launched and available in India too. (We seriously have a big dearth of brands with natural cleansing oils and balms!)
The product is a fluffy, light-as-air balm that melts to oil when it comes in contact with skin.
It immediately dissolves most makeup on skin and little working is required over waterproof mascaras, long staying liners and lipsticks. All kinds of makeup are removed effortlessly in a minute.
Like any other cleansing balm, it does leave my vision hazy for sometime after I wash it off.
Another point to make note of is that it doesn’t emulsify when it comes in contact with water like how other balms do. One still has light oily feeling after washing it off and need to double cleanse using a foaming cleanser. This is not a problem for me, since I always double cleanse after makeup removal, but can be a thing of disadvantage for others – particularly while travelling!
It didn’t give me any breakouts or make my skin dry. Rather my skin feels soft and moisturised after every use.
Yes, its quite pricey for the quantity – but which cleansing balm is not?
For now, I am completely loving this product!
