Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder Compact (#53 – Light Beige)

Hey peepull…

As usual I was crazily busy this weekend too & back with a review today for you all.

Let’s see how one of my newest purchases fared well on me – Bourjois Paris Healthy Balance Unifying Powder in Shade #53 (Light Beige).

I have been using this every day for the past 20 days & ready with my review on it. Think 3 weeks is decent enough a time to test a makeup product! 🙂

Price: INR 710 for 9 g.

What it claims:

It comes in a sleek red plastic case. Contains a decent-sized mirror for application on the go. No brush/sponge provided.

The lid snugs tightly to the bottom with a click, so no worry about messing around the bag/purse.

Never tried dropping it down, to check its durability! :p

The way I see it:

I was stuck with my MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation for long. I totally loved how it provided me decent coverage and managed to cut down one product from my makeup routine.

But then, the biggest problem as with any MAC base product is the shade & its changes.

My MAC shade changed & Studio Fix Powder I had didn’t suit me anymore! 🙁

My besties (Nids & Renji) told me I need to change my compact with immediate effect last time we were mall-hopping together & I happened to pick this one!

Phew.. story behind the purchase done! 😛 (Sorry for boring you all….)

Bourjois also numbers its shades alongside giving them a shade name. So the one I picked is Shade #53 and is called ‘Light Beige/Beige Eclair’.

The compact is a finely milled powder with almost no fallout.

It brightens the face instantly upon application and also mattifies my makeup to an extent.

I have normal-dry skin & prefer dewy finish on my face with my foundi. Whenever I apply this over, it mattifies the dewy finish to some extent.

As such, it will provide light coverage when worn over just some moisturizer.

It does not feel chalky nor does it make me look ashy.

This photographs well too… there is no SPF present, hence no whitecast in pictures.

Here is a hand swatch.. I managed to capture the actual shade but it ain’t showing up on my skin that well..

The claim of 10 hrs. matte is something ‘too tall’ according to me & I’m not the right person to talk about mattifying as well!

But it wears on the skin effortlessly for 8 hrs. straight and my face is still fresh & bright at the end of the day! 😀

Bourjois claims to have added some ‘super ingredients’ to it that work on the skin while you wear this compact – though I am sure the brand would have added them, I cannot comment on what difference it has made to my skin so far!

I only wish this compact came with a sponge applicator which might be handy when you want to re-apply when on the run!

Other than this, I don’t have a single con for this product!

As per it claims, Matte Finish – Yes! Natural Healthy Glow – Yes, slightly!

I think I will stick to this compact for the times to come, until of course I stumble upon something equally great! 🙂

I have worn this compact in my review of  – MUA Cream Blush in Dolly with FOTD.
