Avon Solutions Youth Minerals Energizing Day Cream SPF20

Hello everyone!Today I will be reviewing Avon Solutions Youth Minerals Energizing Day Cream with SPF20.

Phew! Such a long name… πŸ™‚

I am one day cream sucker.. never been satisfied with any so far.. even for something as simple as a day cream!

So did this cream make it to my favorites list?? Read on…

Price: INR 499 for 50 g. (Mostly on offer.. I picked mine for INR 249)

Shelf life: 3 yrs.

A big list of it….. check out from the below pic.

It comes in a glass jar with a silver screw-on lid. The ombre effect in lilac for the label is quite attractive.
It comes with a similar lilac outer carton.

I think there was an inner lid too which I might have thrown off…

The jar is not much heavy – could be thrown in your vanity pouch while travelling too.Β It survived one fall from my dresser, but one needs to be careful with it being made of glass.

What the product claims:

Check out the below pic pls…

The way I see it:

I bought this cream 3-4 months back, when Avon launched their Solutions range in India.

Avons Solutions range targets different aspects of the skin – Dull/Uneven Skin, Hydration, Anti-aging & Oily-Combination skin.

This cream tagged as “Youth Minerals” comes under the anti-aging squad.

The cream is bright white in color and is pretty thick in consistency.

The fragrance of the product is soothing – it has a mild lily fragrance to it & yes I did spot lily extracts in the ingredients label too. Everyone will like the fragrance without being bothered.

SPF20 present in this cream is another good-to-buy aspect.

The product looks pretty thick in the container, but gets absorbed into the skin quite well.

Only very little of this product is required for entire face & neck, thus a little goes a long way.

I took around 2 months to finish off even a quarter of the jar! πŸ™‚

But, when you happen to take a little more of the product and managed to apply the entire stuff on your face – the face ends up looking oily.

It shows up oily on even a normal-dry skinned person like me!!! This is one big con I see in the product…

I just can’t imagine what it would do on combination-oily skinned people…

It provides good moisturization otherwise & is suitable for use throughout the year.

I gave this to my mom too and she too has been trying this for a month now.. She says she likes the hydration factor of this cream but says has not noticed any visible change in her facial lines.

Thus, this cream could work as a prevention product than trying to reduce wrinkles or lines post getting them.

Overall, I have mixed reviews for this cream – a good moisturizer with nice fragrance and nothing more than that..

The ‘Yes’ factors:

  • Good moisturizer
  • Soothing fragrance
  • Classy packaging
  • Yeasts, precious minerals, lilies – what not!!
  • Ideal for dry skinned
  • Good for anti-aging from a prevention perspective
  • SPF 20
The ‘Nay’ factors:
  • Loaded with chemicals
  • Available only through Avon representatives (I am one!)
  • A little more product can make the skin go oily
  • Not suitable for combination-oily skinned
HnB rating: 3/5
Repurchase? – No! I just want to finish this off….
Recommend? – Maybe not! There so many good creams available in the market that could take care of hydration at a better price.
