Avon Ultra Color Rich Moisture Seduction Lipstick in Deep Marashino

Hey all… we are back in action, this time with a review of a lovely lipstick.By Christina.

We shall see the review of the shade Deep Marashino from Avon’s Ultra Color Rich Moisture Seduction Lipstick range.

Price: INR 169 for 3 g.

Shelf life: 3 yrs.

This lovely lipstick is packaged in a little black box.

The actual lipstick tube is a very chic looking and sturdy black one.

What the product claims:

Our most moisture-infused lipstick…for the lushest color you’ve ever known!

Up to 500% moisture boost. 1000% full-on sexy lips.
Ribbons of rich moisturizers intertwine with seductively smooth color for a sensuous surge of deep hydration.

The way I see it:

I got this lipstick through a friend and it was my first time trying out an Avon lipstick or any Avon product for that matter.

I was skeptical and rather negative about it but that was short lived, the moment I tried it on my lips.

I was quite excited to use it because the swatches on the net looked absolutely lovely.I proceeded to open the tube and when I took at the bullet I was absolutely stunned. It has a beautiful marble look to it.

If you’ve ever eaten a marble cake, you will
know what I am talking about.  Ribbons of
chocolate, through soft vanilla flavored sponge cake.

I have never seen a lipstick so pretty in all my life.

As far as the smell is concerned, it smells faintly like brandy. It has a nice scent so don’t get alarmed.
Now this lipstick gets onto the lips very smoothly. It contains a good amount of moisture and yes it looks glossy and creamy when applied.Avon calls this ‘Aqua Silk Complex’. It helps seal in moisture.

If you have dry lips then you won’t need to apply a lip balm underneath it.

In fact, when I was taking out the swatch photos I noticed the shine and thought it seemed creamy so I just ran my finger through it and then onto my cheeks and what a beautiful stain it left behind.

I know one can use lipstick on the cheeks but the last time I tried that I remember rubbing the colour into my cheeks but with this lip color I hardly just touched it to my cheeks.

So yes, the part about the lipstick being ‘Moisture Rich’ is true. For those of you like berry pinks on the blue side, this is for you!

I think the color is just beautiful and it will suit most skin tones. I wear it on a night out and as a stain during the day.

It is pigmented and stays on my lips for at least 3 hours without a meal.

If you do eat or drink with it on, then you will be left with a nice stain.

Take a look at the lip swatches –

Overall, there is nothing I dislike about this product. I might get adventurous and try a few more things from Avon. I hear they have a splendid eye cream.

The ‘Yay’ factors:

  • Avon is a good brand
  • Affordable product
  • Good quantity for the price
  • Moisturizing lipstick
  • No need of a lip balm underneath
  • Glides on nicely
  • One swipe can give u a sheer look
  • Can be made darker with a second or third coat
  • Pigmented
  • Contains SPF 15
  • Hydrating is best
  • Does not settle into lip lines
  • Available in 10 colors
  • Can be used as a cheek stain

The ‘Nay’ factors:

Available only through an Avon consultant – that’s the only con – but then again, now a days everyone is an Avon representative!

HnB rating: 4/5

Recommend? – Pigmented + Moisturizing + Affordable + SPF 15. What more could you ask from a lipstick?

HnB Ed – Aww.. such a lovely pink.. I am loving it & looks like I should definitely try one shade from this range to quench my thirsty lips with some droolworthy lipstick 🙂
