#EthicareRemedies ACMED Clarifying Cleansing Pads

Every beauty expert tells us that we have to cleanse our face/remove makeup promptly before going to bed to have a glowing skin. Also when we are travelling or staying outdoors for a long time we must clean our skin to remove all those dust and dirt which gets accumulated on our skin over time.

I feel so lazy to remove makeup and cleanse my skin once I get home after a long day at work or while I am travelling – all I want is to just hit the bed!
This is when Ethicare Remedies ACMED Clarifying Pads comes to my rescue!

PRICE
INR 399 for 50 pads. Best before 24 months from the date of packaging

KEY INGREDIENTS

Salicylic acid, Glycolic acid and Allantoin.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Pull out a pad. Gently wipe the face. Discard the pad after single use. For pimples and oily skin.

No water needed-cleanses pimples and oily skin anytime anywhere

WHAT THE BRAND CLAIMS

ACMED clarifying pads is a specially formulated 100% soap free gentle cleanser which cleanses excess sebum (oil), dirt and dead cells.

ACMED clarifying ensures anti-bacterial action against bacteria common to pimple prone skin

PACKAGING

The pads come inside a plastic jar with a screw-on cap. This is really convenient to carry around than wet wipes since they will not get dried easily and there is no chance of the jar opening by itself even if I throw it carelessly into my bag. Moreover the jar can be used for storing some other products once I run out of the pads.

The pads are white in color and are soaked in cleansing liquid.

MY TAKE

I have combination – oily skin. I feel the need to clean my face at least 2-3 times a day even if I don’t wear makeup since I live in a hot and humid place.

It is not always possible to wash the face using a face cleanser especially while travelling or when I am in a hurry. I find this cleansing pad very useful & handy in such situations.
The pad has a medicinal fragrance. However it does not linger around and goes off once my skin dries from its usage.
I have used around 10 pads till now and I find that one pad is good enough for entire face and neck. It removes the makeup effectively including waterproof products.
The pads are wet and I get the same effect from that of a face wash. It cleanses the face well without making my skin dry. At the same time I don’t feel any oily residue after using the pads. It did not cause any irritation on my skin. No breakouts too.

In the below picture, I have wiped my face just after cleansing (without any makeup) with one of these pads and you can see how it managed to pull dirt from bare skin.

Anyhow, I don’t prefer to remove eye makeup using this since the liquid in the pads stings my eyes. So I still use baby oil or coconut oil to remove my eye makeup.

The below picture shows the swatches of some products on my arm

From left –

1. Bourjois Contour Clubbing Waterproof Pencil
2. MAC Lipstick – Twig
3. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Black Bean

4. L’Oreal Paris Infallible Eye shadow Endless Chocolate

In the “AFTER” picture, I have swiped the clarifying pad once over my hand.

You can see that except the Bourjois Waterproof Eyeliner, everything got erased. One more swipe, the waterproof liner was also gone!

I really like this product since it is very useful to generally cleanse the face and remove makeup too.
However I would have liked it more if it didn’t irritate the eyes. I tried to remove my waterproof mascara and the liquid in the pads got into my eyes and started stinging very badly. The stinging stopped in less than 5 minutes but I don’t know how it will react with ladies who have sensitive eyes.

THE ‘YAY’ FACTORS

1. Hygienic & non-drying way of storing cleansing wipes

2. Effectively cleanses

3. One pad is enough for cleaning face and neck at one time

4. Removes makeup well

5. Doesn’t cause any irritation or breakouts

6. Doesn’t dry the skin or make the skin oily after use

7. Pocket friendly

THE ‘NAY’ FACTORS

1. Availability

2. Irritates the eyes

3. Strong fragrance which reminds me of hospital

I would like to give it a rating of 4/5 and would like to purchase it again unless I get something of the same kind which does not irritate the eyes and also with better fragrance.

HnB Ed* – Nicely reviewed Nisha. I love such multi-tasking products. Wish the brand comes up with one for normal-dry skin too.
